New York Fashion Week 2013

There are two weeks out the year that are dedicated to celebrating the art of fashion runway style in New York. During this time I'm usually running around like a mad woman working and trying to attend as much shows and after parties as possible it's like spring break for every fashionista. However due to the fact that this fall fashion week I'm nearly around the corner from my due date I couldn't be apart of the running around but I did watch closely via social media/internet I lived in every moment conveniently from my couch. I did manage to sneak in one day of fashion into my new mommy schedule. After already having a doctor's appointment near by I made my way to two shows at ELLE magazines Style 360 venues. The first was Tumbler and Tipsy by Micheal KuLuva  this brought out the funky crowd so I felt right at home. My buddy Angie Cakez joined me on my fashion day out sitting front row and just doing what we love most. The collection had a very clueless Cher plaid vibe to it watch below... xo

After taking a little Starbucks break and heading out to my appointment. We managed to make it to the evening show as well... which was hosted by Rick Ross's rumored girlfriend Shateria Moragne with her FW 13 FRONT ROW COUTURE line. The venue was packed with funky urban fashion along with some of your favorite celebs such as Waka Flaka, Trina, Rick Ross and his posse sipped on something front row and gave Miss Shateria a standing ovation. Check out more on her collections here frontrow couture

Beyonce: Life is But a Dream

So as some of you may know this past Saturday queen B superstar Beyonce took over cable television. I set my alarms/reminders/marked my calender because I could not miss out on this. Beyonce had been working on this documentary for about two years now and was ready to release it to the world. I always hear people critiquing her and how she has no personality but I really respect the fact that she keeps her personal life private. She's an amazing talent with the voice, dance moves, class of a true legend. She recently let us in a little with her instagram and blog site. In this documentary she really showed the world that even a woman in her stature goes through real life ups and downs and how living in the spotlight makes it that much harder to actually live the pain of whatever you might be going through. She shared her downfall with her father after splitting business ways and taking on managing herself, her miscarriage, her love and intimacy with husband Jay Z, and her struggle managing being pregnant with daughter Blue Ivy. I personally was touched and inspired by her story. Especially on my way to being a new mother it's such a life changing experience trying to balance your career, your relationships with your friends, family, your husband, and dealing with all the emotions that come with being pregnant and experiencing life growing inside of you. If you missed this I suggest you get to it it's  only an hour and a half but it's worth the watch! xo

Rihanna 'Stay'

So last week were the annual Grammy's that always hold the best and the worst fashion, music, and performance moments. It was a combination of new and old artists celebrating the very thing that makes the world go round MUSIC! One of of my favorite performances was Rihanna with her newly released single Stay featuring Mikky Ekko. It was filled with emotion and for the first time in a long time she actually held a good note no shade but you know her live performances tend to be a bit questionable. A few days after her performance she then released the music video which was just as simple and heart felt as her Grammy performance. Before all the hype my little sister Esme Arroyo who is an all around amazing dancer made a connection to this song. Being that her long time boyfriend is in the Marines and they have limited time to spend with one another each time he comes home to visit she was inspired to a do a lyrical piece. Watch below as she dances her words I was in tears this whole performance. This entire piece was choreographed by her I am so proud of her! Enjoy xo
